ROOTS & TIDES

The world whispers its secrets to those who listen.

Though mighty mountains and sweeping seas inspire awe, it is nature’s smaller treasures that truly captivate my spirit. Gifts for those who take notice. My photographs are a testament to nature's quiet miracles that surround us - if only we take the time to see. Discover the joy of small things in the collection, Roots & Tides.

Jamie Horton

Jamie Horton’s pictures have appeared in Fortune Magazine, Der Speigel, The Washington Post, and newspapers throughout the country via the Associated Press. Her work has been recognized by The New England Press Association and she is the recipient of the Catalysis Prize for Creative Photography. Jamie received a grant from The Alexia Foundation and was honored with a feature spread in the National Press Photographers Association Magazine. Following a career in photojournalism, Jamie refocused her lens - first on children and family photography & now treasures that nature has placed just outside her path. Shells half-buried in the sand, river rocks sculpted by the tides or remnants of forests and the creatures who once called it home. Each object tells a story - written in sand and stone, leaves and bone. Relics imbued with memory, waiting to be read by those who pause to appreciate their beauty. Jamie invites you to discover the joy of small things in the collection, Roots & Tides.
